Twilights Personal Favorite Muff.
This is where it all began.
Before the Muff became a staple in every kind of music, before the clones, the revisions, and the modern iterations there was the Triangle V1. The earliest known Big Muff circuit, hand-wired point-to-point on perfboard in originating some time in 1969, pushing far beyond what distortion was thought to be.
Did you know that hendrix apparently would have used this version in his newest projects had it not been for his untimely death? According to Mike Matthews, hendrix had purchased an early triangle and was using it at electric ladyland shortly before his death. I can only imagine what madness he would have conjoured with this.
These are not 1:1 clones in any aspect. I follow the resistor and capacitor values exactly as they were traced, however I use higher gain transistors, modern resistors, and whatever capacitors I feel like using in each build.
However, this is practically how it would sound the day it rolled off the manufacturing bench. Now a days, the originals have drifted out of spec, and each unit sounds far different than it originally did. Experience how it sounded, the day it was built.
now a bit about the sound itself.
This is the highest-gain Muff of the classics, one stomp and you are in the ultimate fuzz euphoria. It is not a smooth sound like the russian or elk variants - where the lows are smoothed out and the highs are gritty. The triangle has a crumbly grit that feels evenly spread among the lows and highs, has extra volume on tap, and can become a wall of sound on its own, even with the cleanest of amps.
This pedal has inspired some of the coolest ideas that me and my friends have come up with. It is such a magical sound that it is inspiring.
COLORS-
Please note that the raw aluminum finish option is built fresh to order, and may feature different components as I use what I have in stock and each build uses hand selected components.
The circuit will be built in a raw aluminum case with no paint, but will get lightly sand polished.
It may take up to 10 days for me to build the pedal, but typically it will be anywhere from 3-5 days.
Please note the knobs will be dealers choice and I will use what I have in stock.
