CURRENTLY DEVELOPING THE ULTIMATE UNIVIBE
The vintage circuit is inherently imperfect, due to the nature of the design. I am working to make it be the best possible circuit it can be.
Currently- the one shown is a prototype, I will list it if I can become satisfied with it.
A gracious friend lent me a vintage univibe unti to compare side by side to mine, and this particular salt of the ocean v4 prototype came out quite different. I would not say one is inherently better than the other.
I would describe mine as a lovely, washy, beautifully texturing machine. It does not overpower your signal, but has just the right amount of texture to create an immaculate, watery feeling to your sound. Mine also has an active volume control- meaning it can cut or boost volume. 4 stage on mine can be a bit subtle below middle depth positions.
The vintage unit, was like psychedelic syrup. It did not like to be nearly as subtle. It did tend to overpower the guitar sound a bit- it was very in your face and thick, and I would say it did more tone coloring than the twilight vibe.
I still will end up redoing the entire twilight vibe circuit board. A final version is near, but not fully set in stone.
The right footswitch activates the effect, and the left footswitch toggles between two pulse speeds.
The C/V switch toggles between chorus (classic univibe sound) and vibrato (a strange, life filled wave pulse)
A beautiful homage to the psychedelic blues wave this pedal is.
VARIANT NOTES
the v3 melted earth prototype has a hole where the vibrato/chorus switch used to be. the top and center knob now functions in its place, allowing for a wide blend of chorus sounds when CW, and vibrato sounds when CCW.
V4- the texture is less syrupy and psychedelic, and more of a shallow ocean sounding wash. Quite nice because it is not overbearing on the sound- it adds a wonderful touch of background ambiance to your tone. Like being on a peaceful dreamy coastal getaway with the light, shallow waves gently moving over you. Much more gentle and soft feeling and sounding.

This is the best Univibe I've ever played. Seriously. I've played some the highest rated models, but this unique sound somewhere between a Leslie, a chorus, and a phaser. Twilight warned me that this was a prototype, and that the Depth knob past noon had a odd knocking sound, but I got a sweet discount and have no need to go past noon on the depth, the sweet spot is below it. For what I paid, it's a steal.
amazing pedal, the best univibe that i have tried
