the weight of the world - dual drive heaven/madness

in my limited frame of perspective, it appears that when we focus in on society in a grand scale, the weight of negativity tends to dawn on us, and knowledge becomes a burden.

Paradoxically, in a philosophical sense, focusing on the grand scale of everything, you realize that your existence and world is so tiny and insignificant, that none of it really matters at all.

neither of these are great mindsets towards living a fulfilling and positive life.

In my experience, being present to what is physically around you tends to bring about a better life.

This pedal was custom commissioned, and is beautiful enough to keep a part of the lineup for others to enjoy.

about the circuit

essentially a dual drive. One side is more boost oriented, the other overdrive.

the ovedrive side is essentially a 3 band eq 'K" overdrive with an added "more" knob to push this circuit into full blown distortion. 

This circuit has a different feel than a standard K overdrive due to the added tone controls and extra pre gain, but it can be either a glassy clean boost, full bodied overdrive, or high gain distortion. 

the bottom set of controls is a catalinbread varioboost type circuit, which is sort of a clean boost/overdrive filter pedal, that has an amazing sweep with the freq knob and can get some nice resonance, even cocked wah style sounds. Personally, I like it best when the boost knob is max so you can really feel the filter. This side excels at the boosting side of things.

what kind of player would like this circuit?

Any player for sure, but I think it excels for someone who likes clean boost/overdrive sounds, but wants the flexibility to take it further.

2 distinct clipping modes (on the xenofroot model, the germanium mode is actually silicon clipping but carefully chosen to be the closest kind to germanium), at higher gains you will get either hi cut, compressed like texture with a smoother feel (germanium) or brighter, more cutting and aggressive edge (silicon)

a pre gain section to turn the pedal into a wonderful overdrive. When bypassed, it functions more as a boost. When engaged, it becomes an overdrive

topped off with soft touch, true bypass relay switching, these are premium switches that are very durable and extremely easy to replace in the event of failure.

 an order switcher to quickly switch the series effect signal chain.
