TCM800

The TCM800 is a one to one circuit replication of the JCM800 tube amplifier preamp, with the only difference being tubes substituted for JFETs.

Many JCM800 pedals (even ones offered under heritage brand names) have little or nothing to do with the actual DNA of the amp, but are instead op amp emulations of what the public PERCEIVES the amp to sound like.

This, however follows the amps schematic and values 1:1.

This, actually feels like an amplifier in pedal format. The best part? You do not need to crank your amp to deafening and neighborhood atomic disintegration levels to get the cranked amplifier feel and sound.

Run it into the front end of your amp, for a tone shaper, and dirt stage that will load your preamp into wonderful saturation that does not feel like your typical fuzz or overdrive. The JFETs are in a category of their own, they sound and feel unique.

This is indeed powerful enough to run into the effect loop to use as a standalone preamp into your amps power amp as well. It is plenty loud.

The best part? Useable on 9v or 18v. Personally, 18v is so superior. However, some of my friends who are gigging veterans and a part of beloved local bands seem to feel that 9v is better, and has a wonderful slightly more compressed and saturated gain structure with a bit of a looser feel.

100% honesty, this may seem like a very simple and underwhelming pedal in today's world of exciting creations, but if you could just hear just how truly amazing it sounds, you wouldn't think twice. This is a personal twilight favorite.

the color smorgasbord has been tested and built to withstand 36v- unlocking true preamplifier level fidelity and power. This is if you want a maximum headroom preamplifier that functions less like a pedal and more like a head.

If you plan to use it solely into the front end/preamp of your amp, it is not necessary to choose the variant that comes with the special power supply. 9v-18v is good for two different characteristics.

If you really want to turn your amp into an entirely different beast, I suggest getting the power supply that I will include with the pedal. Please note that it is its own separate brick and 3 prong unit, it is not able to be powered through a pedal power brick.
