The Op Amp muff has quite a bit more clarity and a more refined sound, a bit less muddy but still aggressive and massive like its brother.

It reminds me of mashing a rat and big muff into one.

The mode toggle bypasses the tone control section for a neutral sounding fuzz for bass players or for those who want their guitars natural character to shine through this circuit. The nice part about bypassing the tone stage too is that you get a bit more output since there is no volume loss from passive frequency filtering.

The super fuzz side is a vintage octave up fuzz, a recreation of the offering by Univox. These pedals are highly sought after these days, and fetch quite a dollar. This circuit is a wonderful alternative to an octavia with that same high end metallic soar- but a bit more crunch.

This pedals octave up effect creates a very interesting metallic clang in the higher frequencies and creates some really odd harmonies depending on the chord tones. Highly interactive with the notes you play and creates different tones depending on the music.

Tweaking your guitars volume and tone control can interact with the octave up for different textures and dynamic responses.
