MK1 Tonebender

The MK1 tonebender.

Flat out- I am quite honestly terrified to sell this in fear that I may never make another one that sounds as pleasing as this teal hammer one does. Every single MK1 has its own character- but this one, as soon as I found the right transistor combo, I knew it was the one.

My words will not properly emphasize my enthusiasm toward this sound. Every fuzz aficionado needs at least one ride or die MK1 in their life. They fetch hefty prices for a properly made one- not any mortal soul can cobble up a true MK1.

This fuzz, has been a BLAST for me to use. I have not been able to put down my guitar just in absolute joy of how amazing this sounds.

It is a fuzz- but the quality of it is extremely biting, and ripping- it does not get muddy like many other fuzzes. It has the most viscous crackle and decay that sounds like decades of rock n roll trapped in a box- let out at the stomp of a switch.

Be aware that this is a fully germanium fuzz- it got hot in my room the other day and it started farting out on me. That is part of the charm. I put it in the fridge and played it again later that night and it sounded just as elegant as it once did.

NOTE

Just a heads up- according to the original schematics I could find, the Attack pot uses a linear taper- but in this circuit, it actually bunches up all the fuzz action at the first 20%- so the window of adjustment is very small. It maxes out fuzz around 20% of the rotation. 

In future builds, I will be using a different taper to get a more usable sweep- but I have discounted this pedal because of that. I feel so strongly about it's worth that I would be selling it for $349 if not for this minor caveat.
