the love light was my inspiration of the electronics audio experiments longsword and limelight. While they do not explicitly say what exactly the circuits are, and with no schematic online, this is surely not a clone, but my own version. I doubt I used the same circuitry they did!
In total- it's an overdrive and an independent high headroom clean boost.
What makes this special is the overdrive side- it has an extremely increased range of gain, due to the fact that the drive control actually controls two gain stages at once! So you get mild, clean sparkle all the way to heavy bone crushing distortion.
With the boost, you can thicken up the OD so it gets low end fuzzy.
The overdrive side at its core- is a higher gain blues breaker with.a preamp stage- the gain of both the preamp and the breaker is controlled bu the drive knob simultaneously, so that you can get the glassiness of lower gain settings and a heavy, dirty high gain crunch.
clipping toggles work very different in different circuits but in this one- it allows full control over the saturation characteristics- hard clip will get you more of a hard edged crunch like a distortion, whereas the soft clipping creates more of an overdrive tone- higher headroom, less saturation and generally cleaner and punchy.
set both clipping toggles in the middle for no diodes to use the op amps maximum headroom for loud, amplified signal that is very clean and transparent at lower gain and loud, over the top, and chaotic in its saturation when pushed.
The eq toggle bumps the gain emphasis- middle is a bit of a flatter tone, left is a bit brighter and top accented, and right is fuller, gainier, and thicker with a high mid emphasis.
the body control adjusts how full the overdrive sounds- dial it back to cut some bass and emphasize the glassy top boosts overdrives generally are known for- or dial it forward for a full bodied, thicker sound that allows for a creamy low end.
