A fuzz circuit wrapped in myth, forged in cold war metal, and reborn in brutal clarity.
This is a modern resurrection of the Green Russian, one of the most iconic and recognizable walls of sound in music history.
When I first got into doom and stoner- fuzz pedals of course, were the piece of gear that got me hooked.
Of course, in my search for tone, the green russian came up countless times. Just the name itself held a sort of weight to it- green russian, green russian....
Built with oversized, high-grade components and tuned for sheer sonic weight, this version captures the thunderous low-end and smooth boom that made the original a staple in doom, sludge, and shoegaze.
Built like a tank, this isn’t a clone; I hate to say it, but those vintage EHX boxes were not built to high quality specs. But this? This is something you should experience. It’s a modernized, bomb-proof adaptation — hand-built with respect for the beast inside.
Each part is chosen unique to each build, so there may be some component variation from unit to unit, every piece is selected for individuality, durability, and quality.
Each one is unique in some form. Never made the same twice.
The Russian is designed to push an already roaring amp into collapse — not to sit politely in the chain. It is still has a lot of gain- but compared to other muffs, it sits a little lighter in gain, which gives it its unique character, and assists in the unique controlled tone that bands achieve when cranking amps for live performance.
It begs to be played loud. To be punished. To fill space like a tectonic swell.
Not only that- but with a 3 mode clipping toggle, new worlds of texture, dynamic, and feel open up-
-
Silicon: classic, meaty distortion — tight and aggressive with sharp edges.
-
Vintage: soft, compressed, and smoothed out highs.
-
Open: diode-less chaos — loud, raw, and wild with massive transient spikes. Open, dangerous, and unpredictable.
If you’re the kind of player who breaks gear, I build these big box muffs for you.
Oversized hardware. Abuse-resistant footswitch. Heavy soldered internals that will likely outlast their owner. What do I mean by that? I even go as far as to design the circuitboard for beefy copper connections and solder joints, for almost no chance of failure on the board itself.
I go even as far as to use high grade, THICK copper wires to ensure proper connection for as long as humanly possible.
Each one is made with love, intention, and reverence for the original — but carved with the soul of its own.
COLORS
RADIATION MODS-
BIAS MODS- this mod adds a fuzz face like bias control that tunes this circuit all the way from clear, tighter and refrained distortion, to broken decay, speaker ripping fuzz. On this variant, the clipping toggle is moved to the top in between the in jack and dc jack, with a very low profile toggle switch.
the raw aluminum finish option is built fresh to order, and generally features standard components.
The circuit will be built in a raw aluminum case with no paint, but will get lightly sand polished.
knobs will be dealers choice.
on average, 5-10 day build time.

The Russian was my first Twilight pedal, and it holds a special place in my ears. Nothing will ever sound the same once you hear it. You need it.
This pedal is the f'in bomb.
