Mr. Twilights Personal Favorite Overdrive.

Something about the way it lifts a clean tone — the way it allows you another realm of sensitivity with your instrument — makes it feel less like a pedal and more like an extension of the guitar itself.

The Glass Shard is a refined evolution of the classic K-style drive — rebuilt by hand, one at a time, using high quality, amplifier-grade components. The layout is designed with intention, the colorways are unique to each build, and the faceplate itself fractures light like the name suggests — sharp, minimal, and unmistakable.

This version refines the circuit’s best traits while changing what I felt needed to be.

It has a clarity that cuts, but never pierces with high end shriek. A warmth that sings without being muddy.

A toggle lets you shift between germanium and silicon clipping — smooth on one end, biting on the other — giving you just enough control to tailor the feel without losing the magic. This difference mainly is apparent when the gain is almost max- as the diodes need a lot of signal to achieve the threshold to activate.

And the output? Immense.

This pedal has volume for days. Enough to push any amp into bloom, chime, or heavy grit — depending on how you play it.

This circuit, allows every nuance of your hands, be amplified with precision. It is like enhancing your senses- through electric means.

I didn’t build this just to sell something for the sake of selling.

I built it because I couldn’t stop playing it, and do this day, I still can not stop using it.

This is my overdrive — and you should experience it too.

I use this circuit for metal, jazz, blues, indie, altgaze, you name it. For its simplicity, I do not think I offer a more versatile pedal that sits well in every genre.

COLORS/VARIANTS-

Premium Build- made with the cream of the crop components. I have seen so many pedals with price tags that leave me with my jaw dropped... only to see inside they use standard quality components. Don't get me wrong, they are the standard for a reason, good quality, easy to source and reliable.

Here at twilight electronics, you truly get the best, most premium components when paying extra. I hand select each component, so the components may vary from unit to unit, but ultimately only the best is used.

Resistors - I use a mix of TE connectivity, and Vishay (typically manufactured in Europe or Germany) resistors

Capacitors- Majority WIMA, made and engineered in Germany to high standards, sometimes Panasonic. Both companies are extremely well revered in the audio world. There may be a mix of NOS or other high quality brands depending on what I have in stock.

Electrolytic Capacitors - These capacitors are used for power filters and are limited lifespan no matter what brand you buy, however I source the ones with the longest lifespan and lowest ESR, from reputable brands that are well suited for Audio purposes. Typically my capacitors have 5-10x longer lifespan than standard electrolytic capacitors.

Rubycon, Chemicon, and Panasonic are the main brands I use.

Foot Switch- I use a very expensive, Japanese manufactured mechanical foot switch, with a super soft touch and near silent click, and about 10x longer lifespan than a standard foot switch. The contacts are gold plated. There is no better mechanical foot switch available. This the best one that exists.

Audio Jacks- I use the extremely high quality pure tone jacks, which are extra special because they have 2 contact points for both the ground and hot contacts- meaning you should never have a poor connection with this pedal EVER. If you are experiencing signal cutting out, intermittent loss, replace your cable because it isn't the pedal for sure. These are bomb proof!

Please note that the raw aluminum finish option is built fresh to order, and may feature different components as I use what I have in stock and each build uses hand selected components.

The circuit will be built in a raw aluminum case with no paint, but will get lightly sand polished.

It may take up to 10 days for me to build the pedal, but typically it will be anywhere from 3-5 days.

Please note the knobs will be dealers choice and I will use what I have in stock.

Love it!

This glass shard sounds fantastic. I can see why folks use these as an always on pedal. It gives my single coils a nice oomph. I love the finish, too. Thanks!
