This right here, is where the stompbox was born, and no exaggeration- the foundation of music was changed forever.
This is a modern recreation of the Maestro FZ1- it even runs at 3.3v, just like the original did. This gives the transistors a unique, ripping quality that few other fuzzes have.
The Maestro FZ1 is known as the first ever stomp box- and simultaneously the first ever fuzz as well. Notably used by many extremely influential 60s rock stars.
This circuit is extremely similar to the MK1 Tonebender- I fell in love with THAT sound after hearing a proper MK1 for the first time- there is absolutely nothing like it.
The thing with these circuits- it takes a really good ear, and a very good selection of transistors in order to get this circuit to sound right.
Often, MK1 tonebenders are $300-$600, due to just how tricky they are to dial in- and the amount of expensive germaniums one has to sort through to get the right set.
No joke- it took me about 3 years, to finally get one to sound the way I wanted it to.
This would not be available for purchase under my name if I did not feel it was a proper, vintage fuzz.
If you are a fuzz collector- you NEED an MK1/FZ1 style fuzz. They are not identical- but still similar.
It is worth every single penny and more. There is not a single other fuzz that comes close to the magic these offer.
COLORS
this is not available in raw aluminum. They can not just be made on demand. It takes time and dedication to find the right sound out of these- it can not be forced. Every piece will be a unique one off.
