There is actually quite a lack of knowledge on the effect. Likely released in the early 70s, this pedal was definitely ahead of its time. The exact number of models out there is not known, but likely was relatively small as they are rare to come across. It likely has to do with the fact that this pedal was ahead of its time, and people did not quite know what to do with it yet.

So what is this circuit?

At its core, its a filter. It has two modes- auto filter, or random triggered filter blips.

The auto filter itself is quite nice. Very resonant, and well rounded. Not too overly bassy and not too poppy/snappy.

The uniqueness mainly lies in the random filter trigger. It sounds like these little bubbly blips of magic. Like rainbow crusted bubbles spawning and disappearing as they please.

What is different/better than the original?

The original only had the mode switch, and a sample/hold speed knob, and a filter range knob.

Mine has a resonance knob, and a decay/attack controlset for the filter. This allows for greater fine tuning than the original allows for.

I also incorporate relay based true bypass, that allows for soft touch switches. These soft touch switches are more durable than standard switches, and very easy to replace in the event of a failure.

Lastly, mine is about 1/3 the size of the original.
