NOTE- these will be raw aluminum and built to order. The one you receive will have the same high quality components but there may be some variance as I choose unique parts for each builds, and the transistors will be germanium but the exact model may vary.
buzz sound is another one of the lovely fuzzes that is an altered chemistry of the original 3 transistor germanium maestro fz1, aka the first fuzz ever invented
this one is Selmers version- they advertised the buzz tone for sale in 1966. Original units are EXTREMELY rare, it is evident very low numbers of these were produced.
The circuit originally ran at 3v, which is a huge part of the signature sound.
While this circuit shares the same structure as the maestro FZ1, Gary Hurst Tonebender MK1, it sounds completely unique and the fuzz control interacts much differently than the other 2.
The twilight version is laid out on a low noise engineered circuitboard, with a toggle that allows you to run the transistors at 3v, 6v, or 9v, for different levels of saturation and character.
Each one of these will be transistor matched for the best possible sound. The mid 60s 3 transistor germanium fuzz circuit is extremely sensitive to transistors and needs to be properly matched for a proper sound.
Made with oversized capacitors and resistors, because aesthetically it looks beautiful and it just feels special to play.
