City 40 is Twilight's expansion of the Black Russian Big Muff — reimagined as a weaponized distortion machine paired with a post-fuzz sculpting boost. It’s a dual-engine design forged for your darkest days: versatile, violent, seemingly normal on the outside, but dark secrets lie within.

The fuzz side offers three selectable clipping modes.

Silicon delivers the sharp, classic aggression of the original circuit; tight, bright, and commanding. 

Vintage mode smooths the edges with lower output and gentle compression, ideal for unity-gain walls of fuzz that sits further in the background.

In the middle position, the diodes are removed entirely, unleashing a wide open, raw, and punishing signal capable of turning amplifiers into rubble.

A tone shift toggle adjusts the high-mid sweep of the tone control, letting you punch through with mids or hollow them out for that iconic scooped Russian profile.

The boost circuit is far more than a volume knob- control the mad frequencies into low end or bright white flash of doom guitar tone. The gain knob ranges from clean sparkle to gritty preamp breakup. saturate the black russian into deeper devastation. Use it alone, or with the black russian, the choice is yours.
