COLORS-

You can either order a paint job of your choosing, or I will build you one in a raw aluminum housing with no paint for a discount.

IF YOU CHOOSE CUSTOM PAINT JOB- please search through my website and my instagram page @twilightaudioelectronics for examples of paint jobs I offer.

Once you decide on a paint job, please dm me via instagram or email me at twilightaudioelectronics.com and forward me a picture of the paint you would like. There is a very small chance I may be out of stock of a specific paint but most likely I will have it.

Please note that my paintjobs come out beautiful and generally very well, however I am using very low end equipment so there will be minor cosmetic blemish. You will not really notice this, but I want to state it so you know, I am human and we are imperfect, embrace it as a touch of character to remind you this pedal was not made in a soulless manner!

Now, let me tell you a bit about this pedal.

I am a FZ2 ENTHUSIAST, at this point I have designed about 10 circuits that revolve around this cult classic, with each having its own tweaks and spins on the OG.

This one, however is the ULTIMATE, FZ2 style pedal.

The Bass FZ2 came about after a man named Santiago out of Guatemala reached out to me asking about an FZ2 with a clean blend, we back and forthed ideas and developments and this was brought to life, after a long time of experimenting, and perfecting some ideas and new implementations.

While it is called the BFZ2 or Bass FZ2 since the custom request was for a bass player, this pedal is the most eccentric complement to a standard guitar.

This circuit features the classic core tone of the FZ2, with the addition of the come my fuzznatics mods, which are some tweaks to get a bit more out of this circuit, and the addition of a blendable green ringer stage into the super fuzz style octave that is a part of the FZ2 circuit. When the octave is dialed clockwise, it routes signal into two octave up stages cascading into each other, for the nastiest, most unpredictable, over the top thunderbolt metallic clang tone possible. Dialing the octave knob clockwise bypasses the green ringer, allowing for stock FZ2 octave.

Setting the octave knob in the middle is a really interesting effect- it seems to somewhat cut signal but also pronounce the octave a little more, very similar sounding to how rolling the tone knob back on a guitar is known to accentuate the octave of vintage octave fuzz pedals.

There is a second foot switch that toggles between two tone stages, one is a 3 band EQ that replaces the OG bass and treble controls in favor of the addition of a mid control, this eq system interacts much differently than the OG and has more high end.

The LED will light up in HM2 mode and turn off in standard 3 band mode.

The second mode is an HM2 chainsaw voiced EQ, with a tweak. In the OG HM2, the high knob actually controls both the high and mid frequencies at the same time via one knob. For maximum flexibility, I have separated the Highs and Mids with their own controls while retaining the sought after chainsaw tone. There are some minor mods to this mode to allow it to work best with this circuit.

There are some similarities between the HM2 and FZ2, and with this tone control flexibility, I was overjoyed and pleasantly surprised to find that you can obtain some very convincing HM2 tones (especially with the toggle switch in the down mode) when that tone channel is engaged.

The clean blend portion is fully featured, meaning its flexibility does not stop at simply blending clean signal. It also features a low pass for the clean signal, a feature commonly desired by bassists, and it has a clean gain control that allows you to transparently boost the signal strength of whatever is coming into the input of this pedal. This is necessary to properly blend clean signal with a higher output dirty signal.

This is not just useful for bass. The FZ2 can get so nasty in certain settings, musical ideas can get lost, so having a clean blend is extremely important when you want to properly hear a concise rhythm or melody, while also having a fuzz. With the clean blend, you can dial the clean signal at the front of your sound and the fuzz in the back, or vice versa.

Sometimes it is really nice to hear the juxtaposition of a clean tone with something really dirty behind it.

This pedal does not stop there. It features silent, no click, soft touch switching for a premium engage/bypass experience. I have to record music at lower volumes since I live with neighbors and such, and standard foot switch clicks can bleed through if not isolated from the microphone, this feature eliminates that issue and minimizes any popping that occurs from the sudden signal amplification.

The action is dead smooth and makes engaging the bypass and eq channel a very pleasant experience

Not only is this type of switch good for that, but often the foot switch is the most prone to failure. These are mechanically simpler in its function, so they are less likely to break, and if they ever did- it is dead simple to replace.

Lastly, these are all made with extra long life, audio grade electrolytic capacitors so you can ensure this pedal stays as minimally noisy for as long as possible.

Remember- when you buy twilight electronics, you are joining a family/community/cult of likeminded individuals while simultaneously supporting one 23 year old with a dream who works from waking moments until drowsy slumber to bring about the most artistic and unique pieces of functional art into existence. I would not be here without your love and support <3
