a twilight modified OCD pedal. More range than the original, less controversial origins.

I have been getting asked since the very beginning to do an OCD style pedal. Here it is, and it definitely crosses boundaries.

what style of effect is this?

Overdrive. Tends to have its own color tonally compared to a clean boost, but has the same high headroom and clarity as a clean boost. Certain overdrives step into distortion territory and excel at low to high saturation sounds.

what twilight does different

the LP/HP filter toggle (top right) is 3 position, and has a greater audible difference between each mode than the original.

The top left toggle, controls what part of the frequency range the gain is applied to. Middle is stock, down adds a touch more low mid gain, and up amplifies all frequencies, ton of low end, and more gain on this mode.

The middle toggle adds a nice 3 way clipping toggle- up is classic silicon clipping, middle is diodes removed, and down is just a touch of clipping (makes a subtle difference at max gain)

The gain knob on mine is able to get into a deeper distortion range. With the top left toggle up and the gain max, it gets into quite heavy distortion.

how does it compare to other overdrives?

It is an interesting one, it definitely naturally feels like it wants to brighten your guitar.

I feel like it feels like a mix of a klon and timmy because it definitely can have more low end retention than a klon, but has more clarity and a glassier nature similar to a centaur, and the ability to get into high gain territory, like a timmy.

what kind of player would enjoy this circuit?

Not really bound to an area of music. More bound to your choice of overdrive. This one absolutely will not disappoint. It is more agreeable and less polarizing in opinion compared to the other ones.
